Embroidery
Logos
To embroider logos onto garments the logo has to be digitized to
a disc . Artwork sent by customers must be recreated by our
designers at JS Sports using specialist digitizing software. This
process is an important part as it takes into consideration all
factors such as, garment fabrics chosen by the customer and
variances that occur during the embroidery process. The end result
is a logo that replicates the customer's artwork exactly.
Text Only
For text only embroidery there is no set up charge. JS
Sports have a choice of fonts that the customer can choose from,
please contact us for details. If a certain font is not available a
setup charge would be applicable.
Once the disc has been created we embroider the garments
ordered using the latest hi-tech machinery. Currently we have a SWF
15 Colour 6 Head machine in-house. This allows us to provide
the capacity and flexibility to handle any size of order.
Artwork Requirements
The first stage in this process is to receive the artwork from
the customer. Although we would prefer first generation artwork, Our
design team can work from a printed copy of the logo, (i.e.
compliment slip, letterhead etc) or even an old embroidered garment.
Preferred formats include:
- Adobe Illustrator Files (.ai or .eps files)
- Corel Draw Files (.cdr files)
Artwork created on an apple-mac computer should be converted for
use on a PC or saved as a tiff file.
In providing these files the design team at ADM can reproduce any
artwork efficiently ready to transfer to the appropriate embroidery
format.
It is also advisable for customers to provide artwork files.
These illustrate the artwork required in its original format without
the risk of any problems due to artwork sent via email being changed
slightly due to one party not having the appropriate letter font.
These generic files include:
- Tiff files (.tiff)
- Jpeg Files (.jpeg)
- Adobe Reader Files (pdf) Adobe 6 or earlier*
We would advise 300dpi high resolution files to be sent by
customers. For one colour designs created in Adobe Photoshop,
Microsoft Word or Powerpoint a jpeg alone is fine, but this must be
a minimum resolution of 150dpi. Artwork in these files should be
black so that we can scan the image into the computer. The
embroidery is then produced in the customer's choice of colour using
our design software.
Font Setup
Ideally fonts should be embedded. This means that fonts should be
converted into outlines or curves wherever possible. It is preferred
that the font file is also provided by the customer.
If none of the above artwork criteria can be supplied we are able
to work from a printed copy of the logo, (i.e. compliment slip,
letterhead) or even an old embroidered garment.
Costings
There are two costings that apply to embroidery, the first is the
origination charge and the second is the application charge.
Embroidery costs are determined by the number of stitches in the
design and not by the numbers of colours. Therefore, the larger and
more complicated the design the more expensive the logo will be.
Please note that all garment prices indicated in the website
include one free embroidered logo. However, origination charges may
apply.
Setup Charges
The setup charge covers the cost involved in digitizing the
artwork suitable for embroidery. This is a one-off cost.
The cost is based on the number of stitches in the design.
£2.00 plus VAT per 1000 stitches
Therefore, a design consisting of 2000 stitches would cost £4.00
plus vat. A minimum cost applies of £8.00 plus VAT.
Embroidery Charge
The embroidery charge is the cost of actually embroidering the
logo onto each product.
The cost is a fixed cost.
£2.00 plus VAT
Please note that prices in our associated clubs team wear section
include all embroidery costs.
Discounts may apply for large quantities.
